Borge Mogensen

Borge Mogensen was born in Denmark in 1914. Mogensen started his career as a cabinetmaker in 1934. Borge then went to school for furniture design in copenhagen in 1936, after which he went to school at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts for Architecture.

Throughout his career Mogensen worked with such Danish Modern legends as Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, and Kaare Klint. Mogensen is credited with being one of the first Danish furniture designers responsible for creating the worldwide infatuation with Danish furniture. His most famous designs inclue his redesign of the Spanish Chair, Sobord Chair, 2213 sofa, as well as the No. 21 Sofa.
